Final report: analytica Anacon India shows increase in all areas

24-Oct-2011 - India

The sixth analytica Anacon India, which was held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in India, came to a close with positive results. A total of 182 exhibitors from 18 countries presented their marketable products and new technologies. A total of around 3,000 visitors were primarily interested in high-quality analysis instruments and laboratory equipment. The analytica Anacon India Conference that accompanied the fair was also very well received. The theme of this year’s conference was “Analytical Technologies – Innovations driving the growth momentum”.

“The fact that interest among visitors was so high confirms to us that the decision to hold this year’s analytica Anacon India in Mumbai was the right one,” summarized Norbert Bargmann, Deputy CEO of Messe München. “Mumbai and the surrounding region have a large number of companies that consume analysis and laboratory equipment, and they were able to find leading domestic and international equipment manufacturers with portfolios of high-quality products at the fair. That is unique for this region.”

All in all, 182 exhibitors (2009: 148 exhibitors) from Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and USA participated in this year’s fair. The number of visitors at the fair increased ten percent to around 3,000 trade visitors (2009: 2,710 trade visitors), and the majority of them were decision-makers from the pharmaceuticals, chemicals and petrochemicals industry.

The exhibitors at this year's fair are pleased with the show itself and the quality of the visitors. Thorsten Meyer-Gieseking, Area Manager Sales at Miele & Cie., is satisfied with the outcome of the trade fair: “analytica Anacon India 2011 met our expectations. We met new clients, especially end users and will now increase our business in India. (…).” Keith Hulme, Director at Starna Scientific, ads: “This was our first time exhibiting at analytica Anacon India although our company has been exporting to India for over thirty years (…). Our overall impression is that it has been a very successful show and we have achieved the results we were hoping for (…).”

Viral J. Patel, Vice President Marketing, K. Patel International, says: “analytica Anacon India is a very informative show. We met genuine visitors and we would never miss any analytica show. It is a good show for a new product launch and to meet technical and people from the research and development sector. A very high-tech and scientific expo for new innovative products.”

International transfer of know-how

Once again, the analytica Anacon India Conference was one of the highlights of this year’s fair. Renowned international experts from the scientific and industrial sectors held lectures on topics that are moving the Indian market. Among other things, they focused on the current requirements in the Indian food industry and quality assurance. Current challenges and solution approaches in pharmaceuticals manufacturing, such as the use of bioanalysis in the pharma sector, were also discussed. In keeping with tradition, the analytica Anacon India Conference was organized by the Indian Analytical Instruments Association (IAIA). Their president, S. Thyagarajan, is very satisfied with the outcome of the conference: „IAIA was again able to give real value by putting together a great conference with eminent speakers from industry, institutions and regulatory bodies and  also  by changing the model of the conference from 'free-admission' to 'paid-registration'. The fact that conference registration came  from all business segments and from all over India  was an ample proof that we will continue similar conference program in the coming years.”
