analytica Anacon India changing its location

Conference theme announced

01-Feb-2011 - India

analytica Anacon India is changing venues in 2011 and moving from Hyderabad to Mumbai. In doing so, it is returning to its original location after a period of seven years. The industry has reacted positively to this decision: Several international companies such as Agilent, Dionex, Millipore, Shimadzu and Thermo have already announced that they will participate in this year's fair from October 12 – 14. The fair will be accompanied by the 2011 analytica Anacon India Conference, the theme of which is "Analytical Technologies – Innovations driving the growth momentum".

"Mumbai is one of India's most important economic centers”, said Susanne Grödl, Exhibition Director for analytica at Messe München, explaining the decision to change the fair's location. "The Indian metropolis is home to a large number of primary consumers in the chemicals industry, the drug industry and the fertilizer industry, which makes it particularly attractive, especially for exhibitors that manufacture analysis and laboratory equipment. Generally speaking, the analysis industry plays an important role in the state of Maharashtra: Due to India's large population, the region has a strong position in food manufacturing and textile production. High-quality analysis equipment for reliable quality control is particularly high in these sectors.

The President of the Indian Analytical Instruments Association (IAIA), S. Thyagarajan, also welcomes this step and sees in it potential for an increase in the number of visitors: "The new trade-fair center will not just attract visitors from industrialized cities in the state of Maharashtra such as Aurangabad, Nasik and  Pune. We also expect participants from neighboring industrial states such as Gujarat and Goa."

Growth in many branches of industry

Along with China, India tops the list of most rapidly growing markets in Asia, which is why it remains an attractive investment and sales market for international companies. One of the country's most important branches of industry is the chemicals industry, which had production volume of 32 billion US dollars in the year 2009: 20 billion US dollars of that volume was generated by basic chemicals, and six billion US dollars was generated by pharmaceutical and biotechnology chemicals. Another important field is the life-science sector, which is experiencing double-digit growth and is one of the important forces driving the Indian economy.

analytica Anacon India Conference

Besides the trade fair, exhibitors and visitors can also attend the analytica Anacon Conference, which is traditionally organized by the Indian Analytical Instruments Association (IAIA), an Indian trade association. The theme of this year's conference is "Analytical Technologies - Innovations driving the growth momentum". Among other things, the conference will focus on the technical advantages of equipment used in the three up-and-coming sectors – i.e. life sciences, food safety and pharmaceuticals.
